Salvador Cardenal q.e.p.d. (1960-2010)

Arguably the most creative and musically proficient of the contemporary Nicaraguan musical composers. He and sister Katia Cardenal performed as Duo Guardabarranco. His songs were sometimes eerily poetic like those of Victor Jara. Nonetheless, the most popular of all his songs used words from a Costa Rican girl whose lover perished in the conflicts in Nicaragua: Guerrero del Amor.
